Activity Instructions
Students will participate in a Webquest Treasure Hunt to learn about the many elements that made the 1920s "roaring." The activity is an online version of a scavenger hunt, where students will follow links provided to them to search for specific information. Once the information is found, it will be used to answer the questions asked in the Webquest. Students will then record their answers in the Graphic Organizer provided through Google Classroom, they will submit one completed organizer per team. There are 12 total boxes that need to be filled during this exercise.

Webquest Graphic Organizer
Students will participate in a Webquest Treasure Hunt to learn about the many elements that made the 1920s "roaring." The activity is an online version of a scavenger hunt, where students will follow links provided to them to search for specific information. Once the information is found, it will be used to answer the questions asked in the Webquest. Students will then record their answers in the Graphic Organizer provided through Google Classroom, they will submit one completed organizer per team. There are 12 total boxes that need to be filled during this exercise.
- Students will get into groups of 4, which will be assigned using a random group generator.
- Each group will elect a Team Leader, who will be responsible for overseeing the activity.
- The Team Leader will assign a Recorder, who is responsible for recording the roles given and work completed by each student.
- The roles of Timekeeper and Quality Checker will be assigned to the remaining two students on the team by group decision.
- There are a total of 12 sections in the treasure hunt. The team leader will assign each team member 3 sections of the graphic organizer to complete.
- Students will work on their assigned sections, following the provided links and answering the questions for their sections by filling in their answers on the graphic organizer in complete sentences.
- Once each student finishes their assigned sections, they will go in order and "jigsaw" by sharing out the information they learned for each of their sections.
- After everyone has shared, teams will work together to complete a creative poster artistically representing the 1920s. The posters will then be put up around the room and students will do a gallery walk around the room.
Group Roles
- Team Leader: Oversees jigsaw activity and team responsibilities. Responsible for making sure all teammates stay on task and all assignments are thoroughly completed.
- Recorder: Records to roles given to each student and the work each student is responsible for completing. Is responsible for gathering all of the completed work into one neat packet and double checking to make sure all work is completed correctly.
- Timekeeper: Responsible for budgeting time and keeping team members on task. Responsible for check-ins with each teammate to make sure they are completing assignments and activities according to the time given.
- Quality Checker: Reviews completed work for quality and accuracy. Confirms that work is submitted in complete sentences, etc. Responsible for gathering all of the work and giving it to the recorder and team leader for another completion check.
